4 STEPS TO TASK MANAGEMENT MASTERY
Thanksgiving is two days away; the holiday season has officially begun. Finishing year-end projects, entertaining for holidays, and gift-buying can create feelings of stress and overwhelm. How will you do it all?
Once you have recorded everything on your to-do list, these four steps will help you stay calm and get it done.
4 STEPS TO TASK MANAGEMENT MASTERY
1. ESTIMATE how long each task will take. Be sure to add extra time when planning. When a task is completed, be aware of the actual time it took so you can revise your estimate when a similar task arises.
2. Decide on the DIFFICULTY of the task and complete the most challenging items when you have the greatest focus and concentration. For many people, this is the beginning of the day.
3. PRIORITIZE your work. If you procrastinate on challenging work, you will find that you are trying to do difficult tasks when you have low energy. Resist the urge to spend your "prime" time working on easy tasks.
4. The most effective way to get tasks done is to SCHEDULE a specific time in your calendar to do them. It's like making an appointment with yourself!
Wishing you a very happy Thanksgiving filled with gratitude and love!
